    The Alzheimer's Association works to identify and fund a wide range of the most promising grant projects, from basic discovery science to studies addressing social and behavioral aspects of Alzheimer's and related dementias.

    The Alzheimer's Association International Research Grant Program offers a number of funding opportunities throughout the year. Please see the funding program guidelines for more information. Specific details about particular programs can be found below.

    2026 Part the Cloud Enable the Molecule for Therapeutics Funding Program (PTC-EMT)

    This program is specifically designed to support therapeutic development for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) at the IND-enabling stage of drug development. This critical phase bridges advanced preclinical work with entry into first-in-human clinical trials. Applications will be accepted from organizations conducting studies around the world.  Researchers with full-time staff or faculty appointments are encouraged to apply. Applications from post- doctoral candidates will not be accepted.

    2026 Part the Cloud Translational Gene Targeting Challenge (PTC-Gene)

    Applications will be accepted from academic investigators and small companies with lead candidate therapeutic agents that require early stage testing prior (Phase 1) to Proof of Concept (POC) Phase 2 or 3 efficacy studies, or with lead therapeutic agents that have already established human safety data and require a small-scale pilot Proof of Mechanism (POM) study in humans to begin proving the scientific concept in humans.

    Alzheimer's Association Funding Program for Global Real-Word Data Programs (ALZ-RWD)

    Proposals must:

    • Support the infrastructure, data and/or impact of a RWD platform that has, or plans to have, international, national or significant regional reach.
    • Enhance alignment and collaboration between global platforms, including with ALZ-NET.
    • Have the potential to advance health equity.

    Alzheimer’s Association World Wide FINGERS Network Funding Program (ALZ WW-FNFP)

    Applicants must be a member of the World Wide FINGERS Network.

    Studies must be equivalent in planning to a Level 2 or Level 1, as described in Kivipelto et al. (2020) Alzheimer’s & Dementia.

    ISTAART Grant Program for Conferences and Convenings (IGPCC) The IGPCC Grant Program is open to ISTAART PIA Executive Committee Members to submit on behalf of the PIA.

    Alzheimer’s Disease Strategic Fund: Vascular Contributions to Cognitive Impairment and Dementia - Understanding Mechanisms of Dysfunction (VCID-UMD)

    The VCID-UMD Grant Program is open to researchers at academic institutions and other non-profit research institutions. The Principal Investigator of the project must be a full-time faculty member (Assistant Professor, Instructor, Lecturer or higher) or full time paid employee of the organization submitting the proposal. Applications from post-doctoral researchers will not be accepted, however, they can be included on applications as key personnel.
